Terms & Conditions
Last updated: April 2025
1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Echo you agree to these terms and conditions. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the service.
2. What Echo Does
Echo is a free browser-based text to speech tool built by VoxWind. It converts text to audio using our API and, where necessary, translates text between languages to match your chosen output voice. No account or login is required to use Echo.
3. Use of Service
You agree to use Echo for lawful purposes only. Specifically, you must not:
- Submit content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, or that infringes the rights of any third party.
- Attempt to abuse, overload, disrupt, or reverse engineer the Echo service or its underlying API.
- Use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to bulk-generate audio or make requests at a volume that degrades the service for others.
- Use Echo to generate content that violates any applicable law or regulation in your jurisdiction.
4. No Guarantees
Echo is provided as-is, without warranties of any kind. In particular:
- We make no guarantee of uptime, availability, or uninterrupted access to the service.
- Translation accuracy is not guaranteed. Output may contain errors, especially for complex or idiomatic text.
- The service may be changed, restricted, or shut down at any time without prior notice.
- Audio quality may vary depending on the selected voice and language.
5. Data and Privacy
Echo does not store your text or generated audio. Text is sent to our API only to produce audio or perform translation, and is discarded immediately after the response is returned to your browser. For full details on how your data is handled, please read our Privacy Policy.
6. Intellectual Property
Audio files generated by Echo may be used freely by the user for personal or commercial purposes. VoxWind retains all rights to the Echo service, its design, codebase, and underlying infrastructure. You may not reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works of the Echo interface or service without written permission from VoxWind.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, VoxWind shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of Echo. This includes but is not limited to incorrect translations, service downtime, audio generation failures, or any loss of data. Your use of Echo is entirely at your own risk.
8. Changes to Terms
These terms may be updated at any time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of Echo after an update constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms. We encourage you to check this page periodically.
