Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 2025

Overview

Echo is a free text to speech tool. We built it to be simple and private by design. We do not require an account, we do not track you, and we do not retain your data.

What we do not collect

How your text is used

When you click "Generate Audio," your text is sent over HTTPS to the VoxWind API solely for the purpose of converting it to speech. The API processes your request and returns an audio file. Your text is not logged, stored, or used for any other purpose after the response is returned.

When languages differ between input and output voice, your text is sent to the VoxWind API for translation and is discarded after the translated result is returned to your browser.

Audio files

Audio generated by Echo exists only in your browser's memory for the duration of your session. It is never uploaded to any server after generation. When you close the tab, refresh the page, or the 30-minute auto-clear timer expires, the audio is permanently gone.

Cookies

Echo does not set cookies for tracking or advertising. Your browser may store minimal session data as part of standard browser behavior, but no persistent cookies are written by Echo.

Third-party services

No third-party trackers or analytics

Echo does not use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or any other third-party advertising or behavioural tracking tools.

Children's privacy

Echo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. When we do, the "Last updated" date at the top of this page will be revised. Continued use of Echo after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
